There’s a delicate balance between gaslighting and withholding the complete truth to safeguard others. Teetered taught her this and how to navigate it: avoid manipulation and never do it intentionally to our mothers. Sometimes, it can be self-conscious, but always check yourself and ensure that your actions are driven by the right reasons.
If you don’t like the forest that you’re living in, reflect on the CG planted long ago. You might need to cut down some of the trees or start planning others, but remember a seed to a tree takes a long time, so be patient.
Mentors don’t just have to be in person; they can be reverse mentors or virtual mentors. Who’s mentoring you? And who can you mentor?
Be you, the version of you who God made you, do things that are naturally comfortable and you’re really good at, don’t boast and brag over it but honor those gifts you’ve been given. And don’t compare yourself to others.
Everyone can use help, and everyone has help to give. Where can you help someone today, and who do you need to ask for help from?
Be unique, be true to you and who God made you. It’s OK to look towards others and model some of your life around them, but we’re all different. Embrace your uniqueness.
You can live for yourself or for God. You can’t teeter between the two extremes. If you do, you never truly experience the full benefits that God has to offer.
We all possess a natural inclination towards selfishness, which is perfectly healthy if we can establish boundaries between when to prioritize our own needs and when to be selfless.
It’s clear we’re called to love others as ourselves, but to really do that. We need to know our strengths, know our weaknesses, accept them, and love them because you are who God made you to be.
Sometimes the truth gets watered down. We need to go to the source, find out what’s happening, and find the full truth. Knowing not always will we get the full truth, but at least we hear it from the source’s mouth.
Something as small as our pinky toe can navigate our whole day, realize that it’s Satan with a string tied to it, reached down and untied that string. Your pinky toe is important, but it shouldn’t navigate your whole life.
